Wow ! I just got back from a super solo session at Coolum with my trusty F-one Bandit5 kite and 6'4 surf. It was awesome. As you can see on the graph the swell peaked at midday and the wind was ballistic, Best Xmas I can remember.... boosting to the moon and then racing down the line on some of the biggest waves seen here for years. They were breaking way way out and forming up huge ramps for that rare feeling only killer surf inspires. The gear saved my bacon several times, speed, power and acceleration on tap. So fast, responsive and brilliant feedback all the time, I kept it airborne while getting rumbled and survived to ride another wave. Rob-e and Greta snapped a few pics, but trust me it does not do it justice. A whole other world compared to grovelling a fraction sized surf with the 1000's of other paddlers on the points,,, Days like this really highlight why I started it all.

I hope your Xmas rocked too and you are looking forward to plenty of watertime on the F-one gear in 2012. Love your kiting, dont settle for second best, go for F-one it comes 1st in any test.

PS After I came in the rescue choppers flew in just over the top of us and we saw what appeared to be a rescue go down, someone must have been swept away while wading, luckily the choppers found him and he was still alive.... crazy. Check it out last pic at left!

There was rumours of a kitesurfer getting into trouble and thats why the choppers were called, I spoke with the lifeguards afterwards,, and I was there the whole time we did not see any kitesurfer in trouble, a lot of people confirmed I was the only soul venturing out the back today anywhere. But the lifeguard did lose a jetski trying to get out there and the choppers brought both guys back. Pretty dramatic heart pounding events in the killer surf of Xmas day 2011. Thankfully everyone survived.
