M8 goes to Hervey Bay

Last sunday the M8 crew rolled into Hervey Bay to catch up with legendary board builder Dan Veale and crew for a demo and to sample some of the fine riding the Bay has to offer

Conditions were on with a big, but gusty southerly blowing. The Urangan pier was the place to demo some Bandits. All were impressed with how well the Bandits handled the gusty conditions and their boosting potential. Dan was charging hard, throwing down some nice unhooked moves and monster kiteloops while Terry was content pulling the trigger and going into orbit!

Once the crowds dissipated the call was made for a massive downwinder from Gattacas to Burrum Heads, nearly 30km! Endless flatwater with some nice little wavelets rolling through combined with a solid 25 knots made for some epic conditions. A few sharks were spotted on the way keeping us on our toes (and boards!) We finished the run with some thigh burning speed sessions behind the massive sandbar of the Burrum River, where it was easy to see why the Bandits have taken the kite speed record

Thanks to Dan, Terry and crew for showing us some epic riding, and to Dan\\\'s wife Schloe for being taxi for the trip back from Burrum

Stay tuned for the next update, keep an eye out for the M8 crew at the Mambo Classic!
